I had a quick (2-month) engagement and was having difficulty finding a dress that was 1) my style, 2) available in my harder-to-find size on the spot, and 3) needed minimal alterations. I also quickly realized that my budget only mostly got me chintzy lace woven with plastic sequins. I wanted something ornately beautiful and elegant to match the occasion, but also something that matched the intimate charm of a backyard, waterfront wedding surrounded by close friends, family, and endless peonies. I thankfully found the Nova Lace Gown. Here's what BHLDN says about the dress:

"With roots in the modern art movement of 1960s Japan, designer Tadashi Shoji is passionate about designing his own luxurious fabrics and achieving an impeccably tailored fit. Covered from sheer neckline to hem in the most intricate ivory, petal-strewn lace, this slim gown mixes a vintage glamour with a clean-lined, contemporary cut."

The dress met all expectations. It truly did fit like a glove, and it brought together the timelessness of lace but with a unique and modern design -- everyone who has seen it in person or through pictures says the lace is unlike anything they have seen before. It was the perfect shape and cut for my slim, straight/narrow and athletic figure.

I will be sad to part with it but I hope it's beauty (and price) will help another bride wear the dress of her dreams :)
